Join a community of parents who support the Medfield Music Program!

The Medfield Music Association is a wonderful way to meet other parents who want to encourage and support their children’s musical education, while also enriching the Medfield Public School Music Program.

What does the MMA do? We fund musical extras not provided by the school budget for all music students in Medfield Public Schools, from musical instruments and risers for Memorial and Wheelock students, to clinicians and guest artists for students in the upper grades. MMA volunteers also provide hot chocolate for Pep Band at football games and parades, chaperone music trips, and help out with music activities. We also fund about 20 scholarships each year for summer music lessons, and music camps for graduating seniors.

The MMA meets on the second Tuesday of each month in the High School Music Room. Music Director Doug Olsen keeps us current on the music program, and we plan upcoming events in addition to our fundraisers, which include Spaghetti with Santa, Annual Wreath Sale, and Jazz Night. Meetings are a great place to meet other music parents, ask questions, volunteer, share ideas and celebrate successes!

Want to volunteer?
The MMA needs volunteers at every level, and we hope you’ll get involved. Examples of ways you can help include staffing concessions at performances, serving cocoa or delivering wreaths, helping out with Spaghetti with Santa or Jazz Night, chaperoning the annual MICCA trip, or even spearheading an entire fundraising initiative!

Have items to donate?
The MMA always appreciates donations of the following items:
• bottled water
• new, individual-sized packages of candy for concessions
• packages of hot beverage cups with lids
• performance attire (e.g., black pants, jackets, dress shoes)
• used instruments in good condition

Your tax-deductible contribution to the Medfield Music Association goes a long way toward enriching the musical experiences of our Medfield students!

For the 2011/2012 school year, we’ve created a third donation level of $100 that automatically provides you with a coupon for a free CD by the highly regarded Medfield HS Jazz Ensemble. Other donation levels are $50 and $30.
