                          Medfield Cultural Council

The MMA, music department, and our very fortunate orchestra students would like to express deep gratitude to the Medfield Cultural Council (MCC) for awarding a grant to help pay for the orchestra clinics and Moxie Strings concert.

The MCC has been a steadfast friend to the Medfield music program and, with their support, the arts continue to flourish in Medfield.

The Medfield Cultural Council is a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Louis and Mary Kay Smith Foundation

The MMA was ecstatic (and, frankly, floored) to recently receive a $2,500 grant from the Louis and Mary Kay Smith Family Foundation.

The grant allowed us to spread some much-needed love around the elementary school music programs. Purchases included a portable speaker system with microphones for Wheelock School -- which will allow them to hold dynamic and joyful music events wherever and whenever the mood strikes- - as well as new drums and other music equipment for Memorial School.

We can't wait to share pictures of our youngest music students enjoying the new equipment!

A Cappella Night, presented by  first-time sponsor, Borchers Trust Law, was an electric night of high-energy music performed by an array of talented A Cappella groups--all under one rockin' roof in the Medfield HS Auditorium. Excited audience members were treated to an outstanding performance by featured guest, Berklee College's On the Vox, as well as crowd-pleasing tunes from Medfield's Soundwaves and Junior Jazz Choir, and groups from Montrose School, Newton North, Westwood, and Xaverian Brothers High Schools. Thank you to all who came and supported the program!

MMA Volunteers

It takes the hands-on help of about 100 volunteers to make MMA events happen! There are plenty of opportunities. We need people to deliver wreaths, contribute snacks/drinks to events, help with set up, etc.

Contact us if you'd like to help in the future.
